TdS: GLOBAL WARMING. Panic or reality?

1. What is global warming? Global warming is a temperature increase. Is the change of the weather, that we created.


2. What is the process involved in the greenhouse effect? The burning of fuels.
>Scientists agree that the burning of fossil fuels like oil and coal cause greenhouse gases to escape into the air and that these gases are causing most of the warming. Another cause is deforestation (cutting down trees). Trees soak up carbon dioxide, one of the greenhouse gases, from the air.<

3. What sings warn us about global warming? That the level of the sea will rise, the temperature increase....
>There are already some changes happening because of global warming. Sea level is rising and some animals are already moving to new homes. It’s already too late to stop global warming completely.<
>If the warming gets worse, as scientists expect, there may be some kinds of plants and animals that become extinct (disappear completely) because they can’t move to new homes. There may be more storms and floods. Sea level may rise so much that people have to move away from the coasts. Some areas may become too dry for farming.<

Summaries of DVD

Unit 1: Free Time

Alex, Becky and Alex's cousin, Steven, talk about their favourite activities. Alex and Becky arrange to go to the cinema at the weekend. They wait for Steven but he decides to stay at home and watch football instead.

Unit2: Haunted House:

Alex and Becky are having a sleepover. They are discurssing scary stories. Alex tells the sotory of a noise she heard one night at her grandad's house. She was very scared until she discovered it was only Archie the cat!

Unit 3: Saving the planet

Alex and Steven are helping the enviorament. They go to a recycling centre and throw away their old bottles and cans. Then they cycle to a charity shop. Steven gives the shop some old clothes, and Alex buys a hat. After wards they discuss pollution, and then they cycle home.

Unit 4:Sport

Alex, Becky and Steven are at a sports centre. Steven has hurt his foot but the girls persuade him to try climbing up a climbing wall. They are helped by an instructor and enjoy the experience.

Unit 5: Summer holiday

Alex is going on holiday to cornwall. She learns about Cornwall from Becky and packs her bag. Alex and Becky put up the lent in the garden.

Mamma Mia

Film summary:

It was a beautiful story about one family, tought place on a Greek island.
Sophie, found her mum's diary.
She didn't know who was her father and in the diary found her question, but were three possible fathers. She invited all on her wedding with Sky, while her mother didn''t know this.
One day before the wedding, guests were arrived. The first were the best friends of Donna; Tanya and Rosie.
After arrived Sam, Harry and Bill (the three fathers) and Sophie convienced this three men, because she want that her posible father stay in her wedding.
Donna discovered this, and she mourn, but her best friends encouraged she. Sophie explain to Sky this story.
In the wedding, even know father's Sophie, but they decided that didn't matter biological father of Sophie, because she loved all.
Finally, Harry said that he was gay and Sophie decided don't celebrate her wedding. She accepted proposition of Sky: go around the world together.
Sam was married with Donna and all sang and danced on the night, in the big party.

She was a promised girl that she had 20 years. She didn't know who was her father and in her mum's diary found her question, but were trhee possible fathers. She invited all on her wedding. She was nice, happy and funny.

Donna:

She was the mother of Sophie. She didn't know who was the father of Sophie, but in the finally she was married with Sam. She was a worried mother, but she love her life.

Tanya:

She was one of Donna's best friend. Tanya was a rich women and she divorced three times. She was very neat and coquette.

Rosie: She was also one of Donna's best friend. She was single woman who likes to have fun. Rosie was always funny, she usually joke and she was a bold woman.

Sky:

He was Sophie's promised, and in the finally he didn't marry with Sophie, because they w

ant traveled around the world together.

Sam:

He was an american architect. Is one of a possible fathers of Sophie. Sam was quiet and he love Donna.

Harry:

He was a british banker. Harry was one of a possible fathers of Sophie. He liked play the guitar and he didn't like adventure. In the finally of the film, said that he was gay. Harry was shy but he was very happy.

Bill:

He was an australian writer. Bill was one of a possible fathers of Sophie. He liked adventure and he didn't like Rosie. He was funny and extrovert men.

Describing a summer festival

The summer festival is called "Berbena de Sant Joan" and we celebrate it on the 23rd of June, that is the day with the shorter night of the year. Usually, the people celebrate this summer festival preparing special Diners at home or in restaurants with family or friends.

There are special activities, the fireworks and there are small ones for the kids and big ones for the adults. After dinner people play with them.

People use to prepare, a very good dinner and there is a special food for that day called "coca de Sant Joan". Visitors bring the deserts like the "coca de Sant Joan".

It is a very nice night and all the people like very much to see the fireworks in the night, they are lovely!

Tom Sawyer

1.What do you know about Mark Twain? I know that Mark Twain is the writter of the novel Tom Sawyer, is a very good writter.

CHAPTER ONE:

Tom was a boy that lived in the small village of St Petersburg with his Aunt Polly, because his mother was dead. In the evenings, Tom liked walking around the village. One evening he saw a stranger boy in front of him, he saw a person that he didn't know. The boy wanted to provok Tom and Tom pushed the boy and the boy pushed Tom, and they were frightened. Saturday morning was beautiful and sunny, but Tom must work. He must paint the fence. He saw his friend Ben, in the street. And Ben wanted to paint the fence. Tom's other frinds came back. First they laughed at him, but soon they all wanted to paint the fence. Ben gave Tom his apple, Billy Fisher gave Tom a kite and Johnny Miller brought him a dead rat. His other friends gave him a knife, a cat, a bottle, a key and other things. His friends painted the fence while Tom ate the apple.

CHAPTER TWO:

The next day was Sunday and Tom wore his clean Sunday clothes. He went to school, but he wasn't a good student and never listened to the teacher. After school Tom and his family went to church. Tom put a dog on the floor. He had an interesting morning in the church, because when the reverend continued talking no one was listened to him. On Monday, Tom didn't go to the school, but this day Tom met his friend Huckleberry Finn in the street. Huckleberry was a boy with an old and dirty clothes, he lived in the streets and he didn't go to school. Huckleberry want to take a dead cat to the graveyard after midnight and Tom wanted to go with he. Tom arrived late at school and the teacher was very angry. He should sit with the girls, because the teacher said that. He met Becky Thatcher. That night Tom and Huck, with his dead cat, walked down the dark road and arrived in the graveyard. There were a lot of trees and a lot of graves, everything was dark and scary. They heard noises and they think that were ghosts.

CHAPTER THREE:

In the graveyard Tom and Huck thought that the noises were ghosts! After, they saw three men. They were Injun Joe, Dr Robinson and Muff Potter. They were grave robbers and they want to rob a grave. Doctor Robinson wanted a dead body. When they finished their work, Injun Joe wanted more money but Doctor didn't pay more money to him. Dr Robinson hit Injun Joe. Robinson hit Muff on the head and Muff felt to the ground. Injun Joe took Muff's knife and killed Dr Robinson. Injun Joe putted the bloody knife into Muff's right hand. A few minutes passed and Muff moved a little and opened his eyes. He looked at the knife in his hand and saw dead Dr Robinson. He thought that he killed him. Tom and Huck didn't tell anyone this story because they saw everything and Injun Joe was dangerous. They were afraid of Injun Joe.

CHAPTER FOUR:

The next day everyone knew about poor Dr Robinson. The sheriff found Muff Potter's knife near the body of the doctor. He put Muff in St Petersburg's small jail. Tom and Huck saw that Injun Joe had killed the doctor, so Muff didn't kill him. They wanted to explained to the people but they were afraid. While Tom kept the terrible secret he was very unhappy. It was summer now and there was no more school. Tom and Joe Harper went to sit by the Mississippi River and they fished, talked and looked at the boats. One day Tom, Huck and Joe went to Jackson's Island. When they arrived, they made a fire and cooked some meat. The three boys were happy because they had a good day. The next morning they went swimming in the river, they fished, they cooked the fish on the fire and ate it. That night Tom went home but no one didn't saw him. He retourned to the island in the morning. Tom told Huck and Joe his story. He explained that Aunt Polly cried a lot and Joe's mother was very sad too. Everyone thought that the three boys were dead and there would be a funeral for the boys on Sunday at the church. In the church everyone were crying when there was a noise and everyone in the church turned around and looked. The three boys were right and that was a very happy day.

CHAPTER FIVE:

Muff Potter was in jail, and he was very happy when Tom and Huck visited him. In Muff Potter's trial were done a lot of questions to Tom, who explained all he knew, that was the truth. He became a hero. While the lawyer was making questions to Tom, Injun Joe jumped through a window and disappeared.

CHAPTER SIX:

Tom and Huck went to a haunted house because they were looking for a treasure. They were very tried and hungry and then they heard some men voices downstairs. One of those was Injun Joe's voice. They saw a bag with a lot of silver coins between the two men. After that Injun Joe and his friend talked about hide the coins under the cross.

CHAPTER SEVEN:

Becky was preparing her birthday, a picnic party near the river. She invited Tom but not Huck. During the party, they went to Mc Dougal's cave. Becky and Tom were lost in there and they hadn't food. While they were lost, Huck spied Joe behind a tree. When Injun Joe saw Huck, he want to kill him and Huck became run.

CHAPTER EIGHT:

Tom and Huck went to the cave, because Becky's mother told them that the cave was cloused with a door. When they arrived, they broke the door and they saw that Injun Joe was dead. It was the funeral of Injun Joe and then, Tom and Huck retourned to the cave and they saw a room with a bed, bottles, candles and a treasure. They curried the treasure to Aunt Polly and they were rich because in the treasure there was a lot of money.
